Helix
A gyroid wall that breathes with the roots.
$54
A tabletop vessel walled in a continuous gyroid lattice — every curve a single minimal surface, never a flat plane. Run a hand across it and the strata catch light and shadow in equal measure, while the open cells let air move to the root ball and pull excess moisture out fast. The form holds a deep inner cup for root room; a drilled drainage hole and a matched press-fit saucer keep the surface beneath it dry.
- Dimensions
- H 5.5" × Ø 6" — drilled drainage hole with matched press-fit saucer included
- Plant pairing
- Trailing pothos — vines thread through and over the gyroid openings, so the lattice and the plant grow into one form.
- Materials
- Matte PLA, Recycled PETG, Wood-Fill PLA
Helix began as a slice through a gyroid — the same minimal surface that stiffens lightweight structures in nature and engineering. We let that geometry become the whole wall, so the planter is at once skin, drainage, and ornament. Printed in one continuous spiral, its layer lines follow the lattice instead of fighting it.
